I had my 03 Boxster S at Cambridge OPC last saturday for a minor service. They lent me an 07 Boxster for the morning. I was informed of the RMS leak when I collected the car. The clutch on my Boxster S I noticed was quite a bit stiffer than the 07 Boxster I had been lent, but it is definitely not seriously stiff as my wife drives it with no complaint and she does not have legs like a footballer. Boxster had 4k miles my S 26k miles.
Having seen threads on clutches before, I am asking if relative stiffness of the S clutch is likely a normal difference between 2.7 and 3.2 engines, and/or at 26k miles a clutch is beginning to wear, I believe they get stiffer as they wear. Given the RMS leak and the future need to fix, is it cost effective to replace the clutch at the same time as the RMS? Advice gratefully received.
