Rear panel

Can you get a rear panel new for the 944 (not fussed if its aftermarket)? or a repair panel for around the numberplate lights at the back? Or perhaps cut one out of a scrap 924/944 if i can find one with a solid rear?

Im tempted to just take the tailgate off and attack it with the grinder and make my own repair section but its a double skin and could get a little tricky. So id like to know if theres anything available.

Id rather replace the metal with clean fresh steel as it looks abit suspect.

Yes you can - I was rear ended last year and had my rear panel replaced. Unfortunately i was never provided with the final invoice as the insurance company paid up so I can't advise on price.

I think porscheshop do one but its a lot of money - about 240 quid if i remember rightly.

just looked on their site and found it, cheers. Imagine its going to work out nearer £300 which is alot of cash! i wonder if theres anything cheaper? i imagine thats a genuine panel for that price.

Its usually around the number plate lights where it goes first. I just cleaned up the rusty area and used a little filler in the end. There certainly wasn't enough damage to warrant spending the £240.
