rear reflector strip

Gave it the full meguair treatment last weekend and noticed the rear reflector band was a bit hazy as if the glaze had been lost/covered with something. PCT were fixing heater this week and Autobahn sorting wheel refinishing I wasn't too happy with so I asked them.

They said it was a common problem on 993 but hadn't a remedy.

Anyone else had this/sorted it and any suggestions.

Hi David

Yes, we had exactly this problem on Blue. Did quite a bit of research with exactly the same results as you! Then remembered that T-cut or similar polishing(?!) compound works wonders on lightly scratched helmet visors etc. - and it did a very good job on Blue's rear reflector (Halfords equivalent) although don't expect an "as new" result - alot cheaper though!! Try a small area first and don't forget to carefully mask off bumper and open engine cover otherwise chalky deposits will ruin all your other hard work.
