Rear Screen Element Failure - 987

Calling all people of great knowledge........... !!!! [8D]

Just taken the machine into Porsche Hatfield, to get the rear screen replaced under warranty as one of the elements has failed. They have called me back to inform me that it looks like it's been damaged by me and is not under warranty. They have informed me that it will need a replacement hood as the rear sreen is integral
at cost of over £2000 fitted! []
They have informed me that there are companies around that can repair the individual elements.
Any one out there that's heard of this before or no where I can take it "¦.any help really appreciated "¦"¦..[8|]

i understand you can buy special paint in halfords etc to fix breaks in the lines on the screen. you need to mask it up for a good job but you shoud be able to do this yourself assuming you mean the stripes on the window itself.
