Rear seat adjuster

Guest

New member
I have a 1988 coupe. The rear seat adjusts by pulling out a red knob.
On one of my rear seats the red knob has become unscrewed and the rod
with the screw end is to far in the seat that i cannot screw the knob back on.
Any ideas on how I can get the rod out so that I can put the knob back on etc.
Many thanks

It will come out. I got mine out. You can push it thru towards the centre I seem to remember. I had to loosen the carpet on the seatback and spend a bit of time thinking about it - but it is possible.

Getting it back together is harder. I lost the spring so one seat pull is no longer spring loaded. This actually makes it a bit easier to use when reaching in from the side and makes it easier to get the red knob on so no worries there.
