Rear Seat Belts

Hi,

I have googled this and not had any joy, so apologies if this is an obvious question. Does anyone know if the rear selt belts of a 964 fit into a 993? The 964 the belts have come from is a 1992 model, I have a 1996 993.

Part number on the belt is 964 903 021 02.

The reason I am asking is that I am having to adjust the belt lengths to fit a child selt in the rear seat. So I can keep the original belt receiver in its original condition, I thought I would have a look on ebay for a spare and found these 964 ones for sale which the seller says will fit a 993.

Just thought I would check with the experts on here first.

Many thanks for reading and any replies.

To be honest I am not too worried about the length. The only part I need is the buckle receiver end, so the fixed part that the extended belt clips into.

The reason is the 993 rear belt has a rigid plastic casing, so is too long. So I guess all I need to know is, are the fixings the same?

If anyone knows that would be great thanks.

Not sure I undestand what you're trying to do here but what the hey - according to PET the seat belt buckle (that is the bit mounted side of the transmission tunnel that the belt plugs into) on the 993 has the same part number as that on the 964. The seat belts themselves have 993 and 964 part numbers respectively.

Any help?

It was the child seat guide in this months Total 911 that suggests the 993 part has a longer belt. Presumably to accommodate child seats?
