Rear Seat

Can anyone help me. I have just got some second hand seats and the fixing on the rear seat is totally different to the existing one. My original seats have a button at each end on the top of the seat which operates a latch mechanism similar to a door catch. I obviously can't change the seat but does anyone know if the fittings on the actual car can be changed. The new seats have a hook (for want of a better description and that is contected to (I assume as it looks similar to my Golf Cab seat) a strap. Does anyone have a similar arrangement and could you please let me know the details of the car (i.e. model year).
Thanks[:)]

I've just realised that I have a picture of my 964 as my avatar, I'm talking about seats for my 944 just in case you are confused why I posted on the 944 area.

Fred,
It sounds like your "New" seat back is from an earlier car with a different mechanism.
If you can get the fixings from the body of the donor vehicle to go with your replacment seats then an adaptor bracket may be the answer.
I know I did this the other way around with my first 924 when I fitted seats from a later car.

If you're interested, I have a set of rear black leather seats from my late car going "cheap". Youd need to collect though.....

Hello Mike,
Just bought this set and they suit the car fine, plus the fact they are unmarked. Thanks for the offer. (Try Ebay if you want to get rid of them).
Cheers,

Hello Graeme,
That is the most likely path to go down as long as the fitting fit the body then we should be okay. I've emailed the guy I bought them from so hopefully will have the details soon, then it is phone Simon Butterworth and see if he has the bits.
Cheers,

IIRC I had a triangular plate made to move the "pin" to the correct location, so something similar should provide the fix you need.
