Has anyone fitted DesignTek rear silencers to their 911 Carrera 3.2? The one I am interested in is the Race sport silencer. Has anyone had any experience with it? Sound and performance?

Yes, and its a relabeled scart which is goodinox (french £242 check ebay they put them on there from time to time) . Had some hassel with them, then when it did arrive they had`nt sent the fitting kit, so im still waiting. Went to dry fit it last night and it doesnt line up in the same place like it says it should, maybe the fitting kit will sort it but i dowbt it, to make the outlet exit in the correct posistion it would need a tapered spacer inbetween the pre silencer of about 12mm to nothing. I shall wait and see but at the moment im not smiling.[]

Decided to go and get the H&S back box. What can I say, i'm well pleased with it, the sound and perfromance improvement is excellent.

If you have no luck with the goodinox then send it back and get a H&S, it comes with the full fitting kit, except for a gasket, but that can be found from most suppliers. I use TimsVW (http://www.timsvwparts.co.uk/) for porsche parts, fast, low cost and good service. they may be able to help you with a fitting kit????

Cheers

Cheers for all the info postings everyone. Decided to get a H&S back box. Sounds excellent and the low end performance has improved.

Has any had to change their mixture setting in the DME box since changing the exhaust and air filter arrangement? Just wondering whether it may be now running a little lean.

Mods so far are K&N filter (still original filter box), a H&S back box and pre-silencer (No oxygen sensor), running Shell Optimax (99RON).

Sounds like the next step is a Steve Wong chip in a few months.
