Rear speakers not working

Hi all. I spent an hour or so today trying to find out why there is no sound coming from my rear speakers. I have checked all the connections behind the radio, and they are all OK, but the rear ones are open circuit - no connection.

Does anybody know the route the cable to the speakers take through the car? And maybe if there is a connector somewhere along the way?

Or any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance - I'm sure somebody will have an answer.

My '87 had a separate amp which when unconnected left the rear speakers inoperative. Maybe this has failed in some way? I realsie that this is a little vague and Im sorry that I cant help further. I can say though, that the car came from Merlin OPC in Nottingam and had one previous owner and a very low mileage, so Im confident that this was how it left the factory.

Thanks for the reply Simon.
Maybe I should have said that I have the four speaker set up, so don't think I have an extra amp.

This was a four speaker car too. I noticed the problem when an auto electrician connected up the Panasonic F35 out of my old/sold company Turbo. Initially only the front door speakers worked, but after my complaining and his muttering and charging me an extra £30, he connected the small amp, the rear speakers worked and the sound was far, far better.

A little hazy I know, but it was almost twenty years ago.
