The speakers are 6 X 4 s Infinyts on mine the cones had rotted away. I got a new pair from a firm called Bass Junkies, they are on the net but any good make of speaker will be OK I upgraded the speaker wire at the same time as mine has a amp under the passengers seat. Much improved.

I fitted some JL Audio units - can't remember the model. Used the OE grilles.

I put a little write-up on Pelican.

Hi Steve,

I replaced mine about 6 months ago with infinity reference 6402cf 6"x4" speakers. They were listed as a direct replacement for standard ones but had to be mounted beneath the rear shelf for the covers to fit because the dome was too high. Sounds OK though.

I got them from caraudioandsecurity.com who at the time were the cheapest for the model. (I don't work for them or know anyone who does!)

Cheers,
Simon

I have a pair of Kenwood Dualmag speakers which will screw straight in under factory grills. These are the best rear speakers I could find that were low enough profile to fit in the rear deck when I last looked. I had to adapt the plastic receptacle under the speaker to fit but that would come with the speakers so you can save your originals. There are for sale in the next 911World. You can have them for £25 - which IIRC is half retail or thereabouts.

I can take pictures and email if required. Contact me on or off line.

I have the same as Richard's, there were supposed to be fitted with infinity's...but at the time they were'nt available in the correct size, dont have a separate amp for them, but with an Alpine headset quality is much improved.

Just go to your local car hi-fi specialist, they'll have plenty to choose from that will fit and will probably have a better option than what Porsche can supply. Halfords would be a last resort, but bargains can be found.
