Rear split seats

All,

My 2.7 lux has the rear split seats.. is it possible to simpley change them for the non split seat upper that seem more common??

Main reason is its proving impossible to get a reat luggage blind for the split seat version as I believe that they are different - but I have the chance of a roller blind that came from a non split version with the rear seat upper also in my interior colour.

Cheers

Anthony

THere was a rear set in blue on eBy that the guy never sold so going to see if I can get them.

So the rollerblind bolts to the seat backs does it?

No, on the split seats the fabric blind fits into 2 slots by the upper rear seatbelt mountings. This allows the seats to be dropped independently of each other and the blind . I find this very useful - both my cars have had split seats so I don't know what a single seat would be like.
The roller blind screws to the back of the single rear seat.

Yes the Roller blind is bolted to the back of the seat & when extended attaches to hooks on the hatch locks so it doesn't raise with the glass. The load cover for split seat backs is attached into bayonet lugs either side of the trim just above the seat backs & to hooks on the hatch itself so it raises with the glass.

Best to get the type for your car if you can, as 944 man says your biggest problem is likely to be finding a single piece seat-back that matches the rest of the interior.

hmmm - oh I wish I could find a split seat version of the luggage blind...

It would be worth looking at and measuring some more modern estate car rear load covers. The Porsche split seat option is awful really (the cover that is), nothing more than a piece of stretchy fabric that is attached to a pole. If you could find a roller that would fit nicely into the 2 locating holes and could be made to fit the securing loops on the hatch then it could become one of the must have updates for that option of the 944.
