rear spoiler light

hi
had my car (1992 964) for about a month now and noticed that the warning light stays on for the rear light spoiler when i start it up but then a few seconds later goes off when i set off, the spoiler operates as it should and will even go up and down manually when the light is on, is this normal or is it an expensive fault waiting to happen.

Shawn,

It's absolutely normal and as it should be. The light is on when the ignition is switched on to confirm that it's working. As soon as the car reaches 4mph the light should go off. It's only if it doesn't go off that there is a problem.

Having had the car for a short period of time you are in the well known "paranoid" mode. This is the part of your 964 ownership where you've just got over the need to go and look at it every 5 minutes and now you worry that everything possible will go wrong with it!!! Soon you'll get to the really expensive bit where you are deciding what you want to do with it to make it "yours". That's the beginning of the slippery slope!!!

Enjoy it - they are great cars!!!

Regards

Dave
