Rear Spoiler on the 996T

Hi All

I have had a problem in my car for a while with the rear spoiler, error light comes on the dash but the spoiler seems to operate OK. I replaced the micro switches and it doesn't seem to have helped:-(

I have read a bit on the web, my hydraulic rams do seem to be a bit wet so I guess they are leaking a little. Could this be the issue? Has anybody tried refilling them and stopping the leak? I have also had it suggested that it could be the relay but I can't find much info on this, has anybody had problems with the relays?

I dont want to spend thousands repairing them and I am happy to have a go myself and if I can't fix them may go for something like this:-

Has anybody tried it? or gone to a GT2 fixed wing?

Any advice welcome...

Cheers Sean

I have replaced the micro switches and the relays now so I am certain the hydraulics need servicing, does anybody know anybody that does this or is it something I have to take on myself?

Thanks

A late reply ,but I have had the same problem on my 03 car ,there was a very small leak on mainly the left hand ram and after many visits to a Porsche centre they finally topped up the fluid and problem solved (not a simple task they tell me!). However a year or so on and the fault has returned ie still working but throwing a light. I would like to know the best long term fix but I hear new rams are very expensive also the rams can't be repaired. Geoff

Hi, I guess when they topped up the fluid they didn't use any stop leak formula and just topped up with fluid?
