Rear spoiler retro-fit

Hi,

I have the Carrera Sports Spoiler fitted to the rear of my 996. I really like it from the side and front views, but from the back I'm not 100% happy, just seams too high, like a Cosworth Escort !

I know someone who has the same year and colour rear engine cover, complete with motorised spoiler for sale. The manual override switch in the drivers footwell is present on my car...

Does anyone know if my car will have the electrical connections in the engine bay if I were to revert back to the conventional motorised boot lid ?

I'm in two minds as I like the spoiler 95% of the time...

I would think that the wiring would be there. When you retrofit a fixed spoiler there is a plug available from Porsche which has loop wires to fool the instrument cluster that the spoiler is working. From memory, the plug is somewhere on the RHS of the engine compartment. I'd see if it is there. Also take a look at Renntech.org, because I'm sure I've seen a photo or two there.

I think 95% of the time is great, Just make sure its in the garage with the lights out for the other 5%[:D]

I nearly bought a carrera with that spoiler, I think its one of the best looking
