Rear spoiler warning light

After the recent freezing weather when the spoiler operated in sub zero conditions,the warning light came on.
Now when you switch the car on from cold,it goes through check sequence and the light goes out after you move off.
Once you hit 75 and the spoiler goes up,the red warning light comes and stays on,even though the spoiler is in the up position.
Any ideas where to start looking.
 
There are microswitches in the spoiler to tell the instrument cluster if the spoiler is up or down. It sounds to me like the 'up' switch isn't working. I think the switches are mounted somewhere near the motor.
