Rear spoiler

OK chaps; I now have have somewhere for my intercooler to fit at some point in the not very distant future in the form of a turbo spoiler. Driving home up the A3 and round the M25 the car was all over the place. I know it was a windy night and that may account for some of it but would the spoiler make a chalk and cheese difference at normal speeds of up to about 95mph. Is some compensation needed at the front?
