Rear targa wiper

Hi,
I've decided to remove the rear wiper, as I feel it looks better without it.
Does anyone know if Porsche do a grommet to cover the hole?

thanks
Amolak

I f you don't have any luck with Porsche then try here, they may have what you want if you measure the hole. Ring for
http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.co.uk/ a catalogue.

Removed my wiper and motor 2 weeks ago.

The "cap" you need to cover the hole is Porsche part number 999 703 169 40. Got it from my local OPC...cost me about 79p IIRC!

Afraid not Richard, although I might have saved myself about a kilo off the rear !

The motor was noisy, and like Amolak said, I also think the car looks better without it...

Cheers

Its 29p !!! I just ordered one (plus £1 postage). Cheapest part I have ever ordered.

Hey...I've been ripped off! [:D]

I'm currently watching the 3.2 Heater blower removal/ backdate threads on Pelican with interest...my heater blower motor occasionally screeches at around this time of year and is also on the way out. Might be a good time to remove that too if someone can come up with a reliable method of still allowing the footwell blowers to work.

Anil,
The heat still comes through without the fan working (mine was like that for ages before I realised that the fan wasn't working !!!), or the footwell blowers (mine weren't working at all !). I was reading that thread a while ago and I'm sure there must be a simple way to bypass the normal footwell blower control with a simple on / off switch. The control between the seats should still operate the flapper boxes ok so hot air will get into the system or not as desired. The main heater blower fan shouldn't really be necessary at all. While you're at it why not junk the fresh air blower fan in the smuggler's box too !

Hey, I keep telling my wife that the blower fan is the "air conditioning". It makes so much noise, she is convinced it is doing something!

As soon as someone works out the footwell blower isolation/switch trick, I want to know.

Richard

PS - Jamie did you buy the 964?

Richard,
You think that's noisey you should try heater on full, fresh air blower on full and aircon on full - sounds like a bloody Jumbo on take off ! Good tactic for when wife / gf is giving you an ear-bashing - can't hear la la la etc etc !!!!!!
