Rear view mirror...sticky pad?

Help!! Cleaning screen before tomorrow's breakfast jaunt, and the interior rear view mirror's come unstuck from the screen! Metal disc still on the mount, but the old sticky pad's still on the screen and not sticky.

Anybody know if OPCs stock the replacement sticky pad?

Got one for my wife's Fiesta a while back when 17 yr old daughter pulled it off before a driving lesson...better hope she doesn't find out I've done the same thing!

Halfords do a kit (glue and membrane to go between the metal pad and glass)

The biggest problems are

- getting the metal pad off the mirror (it will slide off ........in the end) and
- cleaning both the metal pad and glass well enough to get good adhesion.

Two quick tips.
- before you clean the screen mark the position in felt pen on the outside to help you place the mount back on

- wait a couple of days for the glue to cure before sliding the mirror back on to the metal pad. It needs the UV in sunlight to cure (and Endland doesn't have a lot of it!) Also, don't try and do it in the garage.

I fought with our S2 interior mirror for several weeks. Nothing was effective..... until I found the Loctite Mirror Adhesive. Uses a "spacer pad" which fits twixt screen and mirror to enable an effective bond. Remained resolutely stuck to the windscreen for 2+ years without issue. Costs about a fiver.

Sorted. I went to the Ford dealer and bought another sticky pad like the one we used on our Fiesta.

Cost 98p, and survived yesterday's Brands Hatch track day, so it'll do until I can get an OEM spec one. OPC Reading no help at all, so I should try Exeter. Or AutoGlass (what do they do if you have a new screen?!!
