Rear wheel bearing tool

I'm going to do both my rear wheel bearings as they are droning. Was thinking of ordering the Arnworks bearing tool. Is this necessary or is there an equivalent available over this side of the pond that will do the job? I don't mind paying for a decent tool to make the job go smoothly [:)]

IMHO just order the Arnworx one from the US - yes you might get stung for import tax/ high shipping fees but its well worth it !

I probably will [:)] as I can always sell it on. My sis lives in the states so I'll get her to order it and post it over just in time for my birthday [:D]

2nd vote for arnworks tool. Works a treat and also did my daughters VW polo front wheel bearing with a tiny bit of adjustment and some other "pulling/pushing" jobs. Has paid for itself and is well made.

Haven't heard of the Arnworx tool but bought this from Ze Faterland and it worked brilliantly.

I don't suppose you could weigh your arnworx puller please? It says the shipping weight is 5lb but I can't imagine its that heavy!

That would be my recommendation too. I once did a bearing with improvised tooling, don't go there - then got arnworx kit and it becomes a straightforward job.

Give me first shout when you come to sell as i have been thinking about changing rear whell bearings, i am sure one of them has a drone when hot.

Just saw your question

Its must be 5lbs its a proper robust, solid piece of tooling, very strong and well made.
I thought it was good value even with P&P and it came quite quickly.

reminds me, just before I changed mine, the 944t met a 535D on the M1, and the bearing was never the same again for some reason.

the Arnworx kit is a heavy Yank style bit of engineering, ideal for applying tonnes of load precisely in a small space
