Rear wheel bearings

Don't think it is that hard. It does require a bit of time though as the DIY method without a press requires an oven and a freezer. There is a guide on Clark's website if you want.
 
Just had an inspection of my recently acquired 944 S2 by JMG and they have advised that the rear wheel bearings may need replacement (amongst other things [;)]). How realistic are these to do at home by a reasonably competent mechanic (me [:D]!)?

I am planning on replacing the brake disks/pads and handbrake shoes & cables anyway, so was just wondering whether it's a lot more hassle to do the bearings whilst everything is stripped down. Do I need any special tools to do it?
