Rear Window demist repair, Any ideas???

Hi

I have just fitted a 968 bridge spoiler rear hatch to my 44 and one of the little tabs where the wiring for the rear window demist is slightly loose. Before I plug it in I really need to fix it so it will work and not pull clean off the glass.

Does anyone know a fix for this problem? Does it need soldering or will a spot of glue to outside edges do?

Thanks a lot

Lee

I'm pretty sure I have heard of electrically conductive glue for this sort of repair, but I have no details. Possibly worth a call to a local auto glass company?

You seem to be having fun with that rear hatch...............thought my ears were burning.

CHEERS MIKE [] I BLAME YOU FOR MAKING ME BUY IT!!! (I am glad really [:)])

No the hatch is now on. Has been a bit of a faff as had to retro fit the 968 rubbers to the body (scary moment drilling the back of the bodywork!!!!) as the pin and hatch set up is slightly different. But it is all on now just needs a few tweeks with the pins to stop a slight rattle and I am done.

Looks really good though. All painted in the body colour.

So DPW, chips and uprated fuel regulator going on in about 3 weeks [:D].

Then stop for a bit I think, or is that I hope.

And cheers for that Peter will look into it further. Just been to car electrical place today and they can alu solder it but said if the glass cracks from heat they cannot be held accountable. Will try the glue route first.

Can't wait to see what you have done to the bodywork with a drill[], mine went straight on!
