Rear Windscreen Wiper fitment help?

I currently have a 3.2 Carrera Sport Coupe with spoiler. I've just aquired a non-spoilered bootlid. From memory the windcreen wiper is different from a spoiler to non-spoiler version due to the angle and length of the spindle.

Does anyone know if this is correct?

Nathan,
Thanks for the concern, the front lip spoiler thread has been done to death.

I ran my previous 3.2 Carrera Sport Coupe with a flat bootlid and front spoiler without any problems and know a couple of people who've also done the same. So I'm unsure whether this is more a case of people getting the details wrong.

It has been discussed that the actual problem is running with the rear spoiler, but without the front lip spoiler.

Either way I don't want this thread to decend into another debate on spoilers.

I'm intersted in whether I need different windscreen wiper arm fittings for the flat bootlid?

Greg - Looking in the classic Porsche parts list there appears to be two spindles listed, one for spoilers and one for plain Carerras. Go to Porsche website, look under Classics and download the PDF for your year. You can check out the part numbers quite easily. Hope this helps.

Greg - I've looked into this as i've changed my lid to a ducktail. I'm leaving the arm off for now, but after some fiddling around, I worked out that by bonding a bush into the lid to replicate the flat lid, the existing spindle can be used with extra spacing - however, because it's a bit longer, the angle of the link meant that it would catch the crank on the motor slightly. By putting a slight set in the link in the right place (bending it!) - it will clear and should run perfectly.
Otherwise, you'll need the shorter spindle from a flat lid set-up.
