Rear wing help

Guest

New member
Hello, I am new to this Porsche ownership ... what great fun! (993 C4S)

I have a slight problem with the rear wing, is it a known weekness that the plastic curtain comes loose stopping the wing to come back down? And what is the solution?

Thanks.

I have not had a problem with the actual movement but the curtain on my spoiler was split this is a common problem along the "folding hinge part". I had it replaced, maybe this could be causing problems or it is the actual mechanism. Have you tried searching the forums for this ?

Assuming you mean replace the curtain I am not sure how easy or not it is. I was having some other work on my car at the time and had the specialist do it for me.

Ok I have just looked on a site and found what you need to make a judgement on this :

Good luck Will

As a side note - I would use a reputable specialist over an OPC unless you wanted to keep the service stamped up with OPC. Even then I think the specialists generally have more knowledge than Porsche service on the older models and when buying a car I like to see OPC for the first years and then a reputable specialst. (Just my opinion and a few others)[8|]

Thanks Will!

Yes I use a specialist & not main stealer!

My prob (if I can call it that!) is that my car is at my folks in France for the summer (it is LHD, and flights are so cheap) so even specialist is rather out! And I'd hate the car to get hot!
