Rear Wing/Spoiler - replacing folding black plastic panel

If its the spoiler curtain that you mean, mine is also split at the ends. This was pointed out to me at my last service. I had a quote of £85 to replace the curtain. For the time being, as its not too serious, I have applied a length of black duck tape which looks OK, and stops it splitting further.
It is the black curtain and mine has just started to split too. I have priced it up at £59 ish plus Vat plus p&p. I will follow your lead and apply duck tape until I am ready to fix it. I found a DIY article on rennlist dealing with this so I shall probably tackle the replacement myself when the time comes.

The article on Rennlist makes changing the curtain way more complicated than it is. I recall they suggested removing the spoiler to do it. I can't remember the exact details as I did mine about 2 years ago (and I'm sure the parts price, with club discount, was closer to £25 from Porsche Centre Reading), however, it was reletively intuitive. The spoiler needs to be raised manually, but not quite all the way up, and then I seem to recall it was just a case of peeling off one of the sides - I think the other side slides off. Repeat the process in reverse to replace the new one.
I have spent £68 inc p&p. I shall remember to ask for club discount next time! I shall probably have a go at replacing the curtain next weekend. Can you tell me how you raise the spoiler manually please?
Many thanks.

New avatar Ian ? Is change afoot ?
It's a picture I took before the Targa disappeared down the road with its new owner yesterday. I like the picture and fancied a change of avatar. Very sad moment as it went. I really liked that car and it was ultra reliable as well. Had to sell either the Coupe or Targa to fund the yellow racer and I was offered a good fair price for it. I know it is going to a good home too.
Ian.
