Now you can't have a Monday without one of my posts - so, this is what I discovered this weekend.
My rear wiper was intermittently problematic when I bought the car 5 months ago, and instead of doing 3 sweeps when you press the button, it would run on for a while, often not cancelling until I turned off the ignition, and even then it would sometimes start up of its own accord.
So we changed the wiper relay and the problem seemed to go away - until this weekend, where it resurfaced during the torrential rain.
I'm pretty sure its not meant to be a rain sensitive wiper (!) and I've got a sneaking suspicion that in heavy rain water is getting in somewhere (not that I can obviously see though) and interfering with a control circuit - my reasoning being that once the rain stopped and the car dried out the problem went away.
Also (not sure if this is just a quirk), I notice my wiper only wipes twice when you press the button, but the manual says it should wipe 3 times (go figure?).
Any thoughts or experience please?
