Rear wiper leaking

good evening. I have a 991.1. The rear wiper feels loose, and appears to be leaking. There’s water ingress residue on the inner trim. It’s under warranty. But is there a quick fix anyone knows of? Is the inner retaining nut easy to get to to lock it off? Thank you. Tony.

If you do find a solution without going to the OPC, I’d appreciate an update as I just noticed this week that the rear wiper on my 991.2 appears to be very loose.

Rear Wipers going loose is very common. 997's onwards.
A quick fix I found was just to tighten the retaining nut but no too tight

Went over to my local OPC today to book my 991.2 in for a service and have a nosey at the 992. I’d seen the original post on this issue so looked at my car and thought the rear wiper did look loose. At the OPC, I got a senior mechanic to look at the wiper. He said it did look loose but he hadn’t come across any leak issues before. We checked 3 more 991’s and they were all the same. He said that if there was a leak it would likely run into the engine bay area and not into the rear passenger area. He said that a fair amount of panels need to be removed to get to the nut underneath the glass if it was, in fact, loose. He said that the outer cover is mainly cosmetic so it’ll move around and may give the impression of being loose but the inner seal under the glass is the key part which should stop any leaks.
Hope this helps but definitely something to keep an eye on.

Thank you for your reply. I’ve just removed the inner trim shelf that has signs of rusty water residue. Easy to get to the wiper mech. All inner nuts are tight. There seems to be an adjustable plastic depth collar. It turns with the outer gasket. Maybe it needs stripping and resealing? I’ll take it to Porsche tonbridge tomorrow and get them to have a look. OP warranty until 2021.
