Rear wiper

Went to Halfrauds to get a new rear wiper blade. Didn't realise my 944 has a really old fitting on the wiper arm! See pics below, can you get these type of wiper blades still or do I have to buy a new wiper arm?

Usually, with the blade, comes a set of adapters that includes a new pin and holder which fits into the arm. There's a little toggle on the arm
 
I think you can get a box of adaptor bits for the Bosch wipers. Noticed this last week when I picked up a pair for the front wipers. Good luck, for some reason changing wiper blades is a real hassle for me... Always turns into something resembling the Krypton Factor....!
 
Any blade will fit it. Keep the pin out of your old one and stick it in a new blade! Can be a bit fiddly but if you know the pin separates from the blade you'll get there. The pin releases from the arm with a little lever that you can see in your picture, again it will probably be stubborn but knowing it's meant to separate there will help you! Stuart

39 and I really don't think I've seen these before. Most of my non-company cars over the years (and therefore much older by choice[:)]) tended to be an array of 60's minis and some MK1 Golfs, never had these fittings on those, I must have been missing out [:D]

Had another look today as not sorted this yet. Have you done this mod recently? The hole the pin sits in is a few millimetres smaller in diameter than the two holes on the new wiper blades I've fitted to the front, so I don't think this will work unless I'm missing something. Otherwise, where can you get new wiper arms from? Everyone seems to do blades but not arms Cheers Andy
 
The pin should be several different diameters and when you push the pin through the blade and click it into the arm the right diameters should line up. I lost my pin [:mad:] so made another one to fit [;)] then found the original[:)] so have studied them at some length! If the holes are DEFINITELY too small for the pin you can drill them out, but it shouldn't be necessary. I took this pic a while ago to show something else, but it shows the 2 holes of differing sizes, one with the pin in, and the crossbar, which is sometimes tubular. 1 of the 2 holes should be correct.

When I replaced the one on my old 924S I just removed the rubber blade and replaced that leaving the arm as original, much easier and the replacement blades were only a few pence and just needed cutting to size, bit of a fiddle the fit but only a half hour or so.
 
Thanks for the further replies guys. I'm still convinced that the pin is too small diameter for the holes in the wiper blade. Will have to take another look this weekend Cheers Andy
