Rear wiper

I have 2004 3.2 cayenne and the snow and ice have taken the rear wiper off the car over the last week. The wiper seems to be intact but when clipped back on is VERY loose. I think the car end of the wiper may be broken. Does anyone have any ideas on whether this can be repaired or whether this can be bought for a sensible price separately ( or even if the Toureg part fits!)?

Thanks
Julian

Play safe and buy a complete wiper. Check the Toureg equiv it will probably fir at half the price. They fit the 4.5 petrol MK1 and guess yours are same .

A good trick to protect your rear wiper during heavy snowfall if you have to leave your car parked outside, is to lift the rear arm away from the glass and leave it clicked in the vertical position. Here in the outskirts of Edinburgh we've now had over 20 inches of the white stuff during the past 9 days. I have seen countless hatchbacks, estates, SUVs etc, while out and about, totally covered in heavy snow, where the weight on the rear glass has pushed the rear wiper arm off the glass and down onto the bodywork. I had to get the complete rear wiper [arm, hub & spindle that goes through the glass lid] replaced on my wife's 5 series touring a few weeks and that cost somewhere in the region of £75. Obviously something I don't want to have to repeat and especially not on the Cayenne.
