Reasonable respray costs?

Guest

I've decided to get my front wing, bumper and bonnet resprayed and subsequently Paintshielded (bumper/bonnet). Stone chips and desired perfection were the original reason, but a product of today's finest decided to key my front wing during what must have been an enlightened moment for themselves [>:][], thereby accelerating the respray decision.

To get a proper job done, what would you say is a GOOD price for the respray?

TIA -

That is a difficult one. It comes down to what you are looking for.

When I had my 968 go in for a full body respray I visited a large number of bodyshops to speak to the owners to see their premises and what the end product was like. This included so called Porsche approved places who had prices at more than double the quotes I had received and to make matters worse were one of the worst bodyshops I had ever visited.

What I am getting at is do not be driven by price, satisfy yourself that you will be happy that the bodyshop will pay as much care and attention as you would if you had the neccesary skills and equipment.

Amen to that one

First find out if they have an oven to get a decent job done imho, it must be oven baked, secondly find out if they will strip it back to the metal and prime and key it correctly. Then insist on a two pack clear coat (not a single pack).

Best Wishes
