Recall on washers on 987s exhaust

Just been into notts opc and there is apparently recall (although I think its only performed at service or as with me when your car goes in for something else) on the exhaust washers. Will try and find more when I pick it up. I think there were some issues with 987s exhausts tips hanging too low although not noticed on mine.

Thanks Bax - useful info.

Can a moderator perhaps move this to the Boxster section? It would get a lot more exposure to the owners of these cars there

we had ours done the other day by Reading OPC

It was explained to me that at 2000 rpm the exhaust could rattle.... these new washers prevent it

Just got mine back and not really noticed anything. The service guy just had the notification and could not really tell me exactly what it was for. I did however have a slight knocking sound when I reversed from cold and I did describe it to them as sounding like an exhaust knocking. It used to happen when cold so I will see how it is in the morning.

For a second I though the 987 had handy little washers to clean the exhaust tips, like the headlights, to save you polishing them.
What a shame I was mistaken [;)]
