recalls 981

Best to check with your local OPC. We had one on our 981 which from memory was in connection with the electric parking brake.

Mine is a 2013 981 Boxster and has had 2 recalls done.

These are a clutch ring & drain plugs.

Recall numbers for these are W0005 & W0006

Tracy.

Thanks will ask about the electric parking brake when it goes to Leeds OPC this week for its new leather seat cover following damage by the driver of breakdown vehicle subcontracted by RAC for Porsche Assistance in August.

Had mine in recently for a software "upgrade" When I collected car there was no one to ask what the upgrade was for, but had been told that it was nothing to worry about.

Only got upgrade because I took it in when after only 12 month the oil change indicator came on! (Car a 981 in its first year) supposed to have a 24 month service period!
Yes I know many of you purists would recommend an oil change every 12 months or less.

Question: If a recall of any type is required why don't OPC's ALWAYS tell their customers?

I think a "recall" is one registered with a National authority such as VOSN and the manufacturer has an obligation to contact owners of affected vehicles but the others are "campaigns" which seem to be applied on a more haphazard basis.

I think the issues that aren't increasingly detrimental if left are just done whenever the car next visits an OPC. Saves an unnecessary flood of cars into the dealership and a spike in the demand for parts. I had to wait 5 months for a wind deflector clip to be replaced because so many cars needed it and they couldn't make enough.
