RECONDITIONED CATALYTIC CONVERTER?

GAFTON

New member
Having been told (by OPC) that my cat/s maybe falling apart which might result in a failed MOT, and that the cost of replacing the same would be a tad on the high side (££££) I have been looking for an alternative. The only one so far appears to be to recondition the unit (much, much cheaper, but is it feasible?). I also do not know whether the cat is a separate unit that can be removed from the car or the whole thing has to come apart.... (car is a 1995 GTS). Such reading as I have done indicates that while there is no legal requirement for cats to be installed, car is unlikely to pass the MOT without it. What to do?

Any experiences, ideas,......

Thanks.

Get a decat. If you get Paul Anderson to MOT it he will replace the cats for the test and then put the decat pipes back on for you afterwards!
