Red 964 at Auction

According to that link is has already sold for £5,460 - now that's what I call a bargain! Seems a bit odd - why put it up for auction if you're going to accept that amount?

Aside from "a slight power steering leak".

Why do people describing cars for sale always describe something as "slight" or "minor"?

eg 'minor gearbox fault' usually means gearbox ****ed - that's why I'm selling it.

Hee hee hee

This car is definately not available at the auction anymore as I have just seen it advertised at a Scottish car dealer for 13 grand.

Still sounds cheap but the description on the auction site worries me a little, comments like 'said to' & 'slight leak' also 'apparently' is mentioned, none of these words are good in any description.

Says it sold for £1100. Seems a bit overpriced then.
Could have mine for £13,500. C2 1990 no gearbox problems, etc. LOL.

There is something extremely fishy about this one selling for that price [&:]

It's a classic car auction - it isn't until the 16th and that is the estimate for the sale price, nothing more.

Thinking about going to have a look.

Nick, I meant the price of £5,460 that it was reportedly sold for in a post a couple above mine. The same link to the sale was even showing this 'sold figure' at one point. All very confusing at the time [:D]

appleton read up a few... as I said before the car is definately not available at auction anymore as I have just seen a scottish dealer advertising it on autotrader for 13k

Mr Poz, I read all of the posts, thanks, but have spoken to H&H as i am thinking of going and they confirmed that the car is still in the auction.

Agree, it is confusing, but just because it is at a dealers, does not preclude it from attending the auction - might be at dealers as sale or return obo the owner, with the auction as a last resort.

Have been to quite a few H&H auctions and usually great day out, whether you are buying or not[:D]

if you dont get it and you are looking for a good one then you can always take a look at mine.

Just spoke to the dealer and he informed me he is selling it on behalf of a customer and if he doesnt shift it by the 15th it will be going to auction with H&H.
