Red Brake Calipers

I know you lucky S owners have red brake calipers.

My car has the GT3 style 18" alloys fitted, with this style of wheel you can see the black brake calipers through them. They don't look as good as the red ones!!.

A good friend of mine can manufacture the "PORSCHE" logo stickers in white to look like the original ones.

One of my customers owns a large crash repair centre, and has offered to remove the calipers and spray them to look like the S red brakes.

Has anybody done this, if so what paint did you use, and how good did they turn out?

Thanks,

Rob

There are special paints for brake calipers already sold and you can actually repaint your own calipers quite easily. Don't have definite info on where or who sells this product but I am sure you can get it in Halfords for one [8D]

There's a good page about removing the brakes here:

There's a discussion and some pics here:

Some instructions here:

Also, go to ppbb archives and search for "caliper paint" there are a lot of discussions - it's a very common job in the USA. http://www.ppbb.com/board/archives.htm

I've just booked my C2 into Autostrasse in Coggelshall, Essex to have the brakes resprayed red. The calipers are taken off and prepared, coated and then PORSCHE stickers applied and then lacquered. The car will be gone for about 3-4 days and the cost is around the £200 mark. Having done this job myself on my previous car ( MR2 ) with the aforementioned products from Halfords etc I would reccommend that this is left to a pro and also with the appropriate paint etc ..
