Will Boxster S calipers from a 986 Boxster fit my 2.5 986 Boxster ?, or is it better to just paint my existing onesr red ?, I would also need to stick on a new Porsche decal.

I would suggest also that you get a good specialist paint that will be proof against a lot of heat especially if you track day the car at all.

The front calipers will swap but the rears won't without some modification work. Foliatec make a good quality caliper paint that you can get in red but imho I wouldn't recommend a colour change unless you can remove the calipers and refit (brake fluid remember) them yourself, take a wheel off and have a good look at all the hard to paint places that there are while the calipers are insitu, youv'e got to cover them all or it will look a real ham-fisted attempt, believe me I've seen one done! Also do you really want to make the car look more like an S when it isn't, a bit too Maxpower for me I'd rather see a nice original example anyday, and the next buyer might too! [;)]
Hope this helps a little,
btw, you can have calipers re-enamelled but it's quite expensive.
Paint them black, new decals and a few coats of clear lacquer over the top and they'll look like new!!
