Sorry to hear this

I've sent the email to PS.

Can you enlighten us in any way as how you have not been doing your job and where they are going to find a more suitable replacement! Or is this a continuation of recent events.

Regards

Gordon

PS : I tried to pot on your forum posting it wouldnt let me!?

[FONT=Times New Roman"][FONT=verdana, geneva"]I am particulary dismayed to discover that though everyone at the Workers conference last Saturday were told that Geoff's position as RO had been removed, the first thing he knew about it was on receipt of a registered letter delivered today by courier. Surely he should have been the first to know?

I can only surmise what dastardly evil doings he is guilty off for this to happen to a very long standing honorary member who has given so much to the Club for so long.

Derek

Removed sounds like the region has disappeared and I hope you mean registered post and not courier.

and common decency is you talk to the gentlemen first and not tell the world.

It is disgraceful.

and why can I post now when it wouldnt let me earlier!?

As Assistant RO, I have written to Paul to find out what he has decided re new RO. I have no reason to believe that the Region will die.

Geoff did tell me that his termination letter arrived by Courier. I have no reason to disbelieve him as I have always found him honest. Maybe the Board wanted the letter to arrive asap, but I gather it was not sent until at least Tuesday.

Let me put this straight. The letter arrived by Royal Mail but not by my postman.
At 08.10 this morning a man in Royal Mail uniform delivered it. He didn't call at any other address in the street and was only carrying the one item.
The regular post arrived at the usual time of 11.00 (ish) and contained a copy of the same letter by first class post.
The 8.10 one was special delivery.

A Röhm-Putsch ?

Presumably, but I thought the knives had been put away in our new "open" club or is Geoff's membership the next stage and then the rest of the people who were not happy with recent events.

Any way I will await an officail reponse from Mr Seagrave.

You will now understand why I wouldn't name those people willing to be elected to an interim board.

The good news is that Mavis is still the RO as she was my 'Joint R/O' and Derek is still in place as Assistant R/O so things should proceed as normal.

Gutted to hear this Geoff, I hope that things can be worked out in the same way it was for Johnny, the club needs its supporters and people that do things.

I really find this hard to understand.

I do hope, that as Gary says, we can move forward in the same way that was done with Johnny.

A sad day indeed Geoff . We have known you for so long and you have given so much to the club. Hope we can share a few more laughs and a couple of Guinesses in the future.
Cheers

Received call from Paul Seagrave this morning explaining matters. Thanks for that Paul. He his hoping that Mavis carries on running the region.

I wasnt impressed with the reasons and the lack of evidence, the word of one RO against another and even whether the offending document that Geoff was seen handing on was generated by him.

I sincerely hope that the politics and the blood letting stops, I had hoped we had moved on from the EGM and that we were all getting on with supporting and running a car club, rather than rehashing personal issues.

PLEASE AW and GI you and GI are never going to get on, get over it and move on. Geoff has given and was planning to still do far to much for the club to be ostracised in this manner.

Hear hear!

This is not doing the Club any good at all. It is a car club, not a private company owned by an individual and we all should be able to live with opposing views.

Hopefully the Board can draw a line in the sand, forget the past and move on. They had our support at the EGM and should be delighted with that. Moreover, we cannot afford to waste any decent person who is willing to work tirelessly for our great Club

Seconded. The best thing would be to all agree to shake hands and move on. If anyone has any any desire to stir things up again they won't succeed, so let it all go. [&o]

Absolutely.

Geoff was certainly at the forefront of galvanising the 50+ who brought about the EGM. An EGM much heralded as a turning point for the current Board. If, as suggested, this EGM will see the Club going forward then Geoff should be thanked and applauded for his part in bringing this to pass, not cast into outer darkness.

For The Board to pursue what can only be considered a vendetta only goes to highlight, and confirm, the reasons behind the original discontent. We were meant to have moved forward.

Someone somewhere doesn't seem able to learn from their mistakes-but I have refrained from posting for some time given all the reassurances-they don't seem to be working !
