Refuelling issues

Hi folks,

I am a new Boxster S owner, and put fuel in it for the first time last night.

It must have taken me 10 minutes to get a full tank in with the gun cutting out every few seconds. Is this a standard thing with the car, or is it just me?

I used to have a car with an anti syphon device fitted in the filler pipe that used to back up the fuel during refill, and I was wondering if this was the same sort of thing?

Cheers

I got this to start with....unlike other cars you mustn't push the fuel nozzle in as far as it goes because the back-pressure of the vapour makes the pump think you're full.

If you look at the nozzle there's usually a little "ridge" in it about 2-3 inches along...sit this on the lip of your fuel-hole and it should flow nicely. If no ridge, just push the nozzle in far enough that the end is just past the metal flap and you should be good.

I'm glad I figured this out before I took my new car back to the OPC - oh the shame [:D]

I sometimes get this as well.

If it happens, then take the nozzle out and turn it upside down (put it in the filler with the trigger upwards). It seems to work better that way.

Hi

I found that if I turn the nozzle slightly towards the front of the car and lift it out a little it goes fine!

Regards
Chris
