Dont shoot the messenger ok?

My son is into VW`s and I did a deal with him re my old D90`s

He`s now swapped around and got some 6" all around on his Polo Gti that have now been refurbed and I`ll have to say they look the dogs danglies so I thought I`d post them here for ideas in case others were considering refurbing theirs and wondered what to do with them.

They look alright where they are, but Im not sure that that finish would suit an original fitment. I used to sell a lot of 911 cookie cutters (and some Carrera 6" & 7" ET23mm 'dials too) to Beetle owners and Fuchs if they could afford them. Towards the end a couple of people bought sets of 6" D90s too, so I could see where it was going. Im surprised that its upped the price so much though, because Dubbers buying them didnt alter the value of the other wheels Ive mentioned.

Looks the danglies Paul - though i'm not sure about the Porsche crest in the middle! Maybe it should be a VW badge! I'm coming round to liking the black wheels with some rim pinstripe action. I recently saw a red 968 with gloss black Cup 2's and it looks awsome - and there is a chap at work with a red (very similar to guards red) Leon Cupra R (previous model) with satin black wheels with a red pinstripe around the rim, which looks even better. I used to be the most fervant opponent of wheels in any colour other than metalic silver, but i'm coming round.

Look fantastic. [8D]

Someone else did this with their D90's - on - 944 of all things [:D] ~ I think they may have been anthracite centres but they also looked fantastic.

I love them. I wouldn't mind the same on mine, as Tony's Titanium car looks the dog's on it's black (are they black or dark grey?) wheels.

I agree about the centres though. Porsche logo on a Golf just makes them look nicked IMHO.

I never liked the D90`s (and still dont) but I love Cup 1`s however I parked up against some refurbed Cup 1`s (see below) and have to say I dont like the refurbed ones but DO like the refurbed D90`s. Strange.

The D90s are made for the ABS equipped Porsche 944s which I believe came into the 944 line in around 1986. They have a much higher offset than the earlier cars.

The car on the right with D90's is Paul Hilux's old Turbo on lowered KW V3

Yup, correct [;)]

Taken to 1) show off Cup 1`s which I later fitted (but in silver) and 2) to show the dramatic difference in stance with KW fitted.

I do however like the forged D90`s fitted to early 19881/2 Silver Rose cars I believe as they arent so chunky spoke wise.

Them`s the ones but not so bling, I prefer the anodised original finish

Lovely arent they [8D]

Different colour/finish from the wheel and not sitting flush (I think they may be from a different wheel design, but am prepared to be corrected), that's all. I'd missed that they were correctly lined up though (hangs head in shame).
