Refurbishment of my C2's driver's seat backrest bolster

The driver's seat bolster (on the reclining part, not the fixed seat squab) is in need of a little TLC to improve the few scratches and minor wear to the leather. Its a pretty small area in reality. I believe the refurbing process is called "re-connolisation"(?). Does anyone have a contact/recommendation in the Edinburgh area who could advise and also carry out this sort of work?

Many thanks, John Dymond

Try David Beattie on 0774 851 7357. Did some work on my turbo a year or so ago and the repair was completely invisible. He's based in Glasgow.

Willie Ramsay, Loanhead is supposed to be very good. Not used him but a friend has.
If you Google him there are some hits.

I did mine myself with an airbrush bought from Amazon and the dye from leathercare.
It came out perfect to be honest and was quite easy to do,I would defo do it again without hesitation even if it was a large area (Mine came out that good!!) but it is black leather

Willie Ramsay did a top notch repair to my 924 seats. Fabric not leather, so I can't comment on his skills at re-Connolising, but a good place and local.

Do it yourself.. depending on how bad your seat is there are two methods I use..

For minor wear and scuffs - Shoe polish! That's right, like you used to put on your school shoes. It fills and colours cracks and wear To the colour finish.

For heavy wear - Dynamix/liquid leather. Order it on eBay, correct colour for your car, apply with a little sponge, dry it with a hairdryer. A few coats and your seats are like new.

Very very easy stuff.

If you have a hole you will need that section replaced, any auto trimmer can do that.

Many thanks to the folks who have offered suggestions. I sense a small project for the winter months approaching!
