I am sorry to report this month that I am having to stand down as RO for Region 1. As some of you will know I have been unwell for about 6 weeks now and I have been diagnosed as having a blood disorder called Myasthenia. I also have a tumour in my Thymus Gland which will require surgery. The recovery time from the operation may be around 6 weeks and this will be followed up with mediaction to control the blood disorder. Getting back to normal could be anything from 6 month to a year or perhaps longer. The condition is quite rare and everyone responds differently.

I have been RO since around 2006 ? or was it 2007, not quite sure but is has been great fun and I have made some great friends and attended some amazing events and road trips over the years. I hope the region continues to enjoy its support and commitment from the members.

For the interim , Donald Alexander will take over as temporary RO. Donald has been a Porsche Owner for many years and had been suportive over the years with many of the events we have organised.

PCGB have asked that I remain as ARO (Assistant RO) and I am very happy to do this and will assist when and where I can.

Donald intially can be contacted on; donalexander1948@gmail.com but the R1@porscheclubgb.com will be transferred to Donald in due course.

My own email remains as s.j.laurie@btinternet.com

I would like to thank everyone for all their support over the years while I was RO and hope to see all of you sometime soon. I am still here if anyone wants guidance or advice about their cars as I regularly get calls from members.

With a bit of luck I willl be back to normal sometime next year and be able to continue to enjoy the club and driving my car.

Regards
Scott
