PCGB Region 10 2006 Street Concours (Show and Shine)
Porsche Centre Silverstone (Towcester) - 6th August.

The Region 10 concours is a "˜Show and Shine' or "˜Pride of Ownership' competition. The emphasis is on fun. All members are welcome no matter what Porsche you drive. Just give it a wash and turn up.

The competition is being held at the Porsche Centre Silverstone on the 6th August.

The address is"¦

Old Tiffield Road
Towcester
Northamptonshire
NN12 6PF

We are limited to 36 cars in the competition on a first come first served basis but you can still take part in the scoring even if your car is not in the competition itself. We would especially like to see representatives in the "˜Early Air-cooled' and "˜Early Water cooled' categories so come on those 356's, early 911's, 924's 944's, 968's and 928's lets see you!

Prizes and trophies will be awarded to highest scorers in the following categories:

  • Best early water-cooled (covering 924, 944, 928 and 968 etc)
  • Best modern water-cooled (covering 996, Boxster and Cayenne etc)
  • Best pre-1980 (356, 550's, 912, 914 and early 911 etc)
  • Best air-cooled (covering 911's through to 993)
  • Best visitor (non-R10 members)
One of the first four will also be the "Overall Winner" for 2006.

The above categories will be judged by 4 'guest' judges who have been volunteered/selected for their experience and/or contribution to the event.

In addition, there will be a prize for "Members favourite car". This will be awarded to the owner who's vehicle scores highest from the votes of all those present. In order to retain the 'Audience Participation' aspect we ask each person who attends to select their 1st, 2nd and 3rd favourite vehicle. Each 1st place a car receives will give it 3 points, 2nd 2 and 3rd 1.

The event schedule is as follows: -

[blockquote]11:00 Porsche Centre Open
11:55 Latest arrival time for concours entrants
12:00 Briefing
12:30 Judging begins
14:30 Judging completed
15:30 Results and Presentations
16:00 End
[/blockquote]
The judging times may change depending on the number of cars entered so the times above should be treated as maximums. With fewer entries we would hope to be quicker.

We have some great prizes for the concours, alongside the priceless value of R10 colleague's recognition, and the trophies are gleaming just waiting to be given away.

Finally as well as hosting the event for us Porsche Centre Silverstone will be laying on some light snacks and refreshments.

Please come along and support this event it should be a great day out.

If you have any questions then please contact Mike or Sue through this thread, email or phone contacts in the PorscheFile as I will be on holiday from Saturday to the Saturday before the competition.

Andy

Weather forecast is looking good [:)]; we have some excellent prizes (courtesy of some good discounting by the OPC); and even the promise of some snacks being laid on by the OPC [:)][:)] - so let's see a good turnout.

As Andy says, please arrive and register between 11 and 12 noon if you're planning to take part. Only those recorded as R10 on Club Office database will be entitled to compete for Regional trophies - all other will be in "Visitors' class". In the event of disputes (and I hope there will be none as this is a fun event [8|]), the judges' decision is final!

Please enjoy the day.............and chill out [8D].

Thanks Mike, Andy and Sue for all the organisational work - from my point of view it was a perfect day!! Watching the Hungarian Grand Prix, chatting to some lovely people, looking over some really great cars - and winning 1st place into the bargain. It doesn't get any better than this!!! Thanks must also go to Robin Simpson for the hospitality of PC Silverstone and Robin Walker for the judging.

A quick pic attached.

Regards

Dave

I'm sure they would have given you a runners up badge if you asked for one Maurice [:D]

It was a nice afternoon in good company (thanks Mike, Sue and Robin x2) and Daves car was a deserved winner.

(though of course I voted for Maurices [;)])

Nice pictures Maurice!! I really enjoyed it today - I felt very comfortable back at the OPC and I think Robin (Simpson) made a point of making everyone welcome.

BTW Maurice - I voted for your car!! Did I mention "rough" body kits. I know someone asked me about mine and I couldn't, for the life of me, remember the styling company on whose design it was based. I subsequently remembered that it was (is) Strosek. The parts themselves are from Pro9 (www.pro-9.co.uk)

Dave
