Don't forget that our club night tomorrow will be held at The Owl at Hambleton and not The Crown in Monk Fryston. We're looking forward to a big turnout to get the new venue off to a good start. See you there!

And it's the charity auction.........anyone who forgets to bring something has to put their car up :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I think that the auction is in April mate.
For those that are unsure of the new venue, aim for the old place (coming from the A1) and go past the old place and its the owl pub which is in the next village which is a Neil couple of miles away but an everyone elses 4 miles [:)]

Regards,

Neil

Dont say you live in Monk Fryston as you will be especially annoyed as we used to be at the Crown beforehand [;)]

Now you live 30 seconds away there is no reason for you not to come to Aprils clubnight (not this side of alien abduction anyway) [:D]

Nope i dont live in monk fryston but i can get there in about 5mins. Theres usually a white S2 i see rarely at that pub.

So are the club meets held at hambelton from now on then? I live at thorpe willoughby which is the first village after hambelton in the selby direction. So id love to turn up... although my current 944 im rather embarrsed of so i might walk [:D]

When is the april meet and i will be there, but i expect loads of 944s to oggle over! how many usually turn up?

Future club nights will be in Hambleton at The Owl. The next one is Wednesday 4th April from 8 pm. You're very welcome to come along - and bring the 944 we don't seem to get many of them these days.

Have a look at other posts on the forum about our events for this year. We had a run to Holmpton last weekend and 20 cars turned up and we're planning a run to Whitby in May.

Dave,

On clubnight we usually have between 20-30 people turn up including WAGS. Its not just all blokes wearing wooly jumpers and elbow patches [:D]. There is nothing wrong with bringing a 944 to clubnight as we are enthusiasts about the marque not just a particular model and quite a few are previous owners of 944's. Also if your birthday is correct on your member profile then good on you mate as most 19 year olds are busy sticking pieces of plastic tat and neon lights to there mothers 1 litre Corsa then driving round Maccy D's car park!

Regards,

Neil Eldred

Ian - I'll keep a eye out on the region's section for anything up and coming, i presume some of you will attend local shows too perhaps? The Lux is a little (alot) scruffy... but certainly when the turbo is on the road then ill be eager to get on some of these runs!

I'll try and get to the april club night then (and future ones if im allowed to gatecrash), theres no excuse when it will take me 30secs to get there!Although ill put the car in the furthest away corner so nobdy can see it!

i really must consider joining the club soon!

Is the meet in the restaurant itself then? do many porsches turn up (ie do i need to bring the camera [;)])

yeah neil im 19... just! i was into capris, had a red 2.8 when i was 17/18

and then my dad let me use the 944 and ive fallen for her!

you probably have noticed the amount of plastic bodied corsas and novas around here, theres so many of the buggers, I always have tried to avoid them! infact one of these chavs turned his nose up at the 944 the other night and said get a 2.0ltr corsa. []

Chavs driving 1 litre Corsas are prevelant all over I am afraid. They will be bragging how that they have thrashed Porkers, Ferraris and even a Zonda. They will also brag about having done there 14 year old girlfriends up the wrong un and that there cars are sooooo powerful that they spin the rimz in the tyres innit !!
If they are a similar age to you then what on earth are they doing hanging round Maccy D's when they are of a legal age to go into a pub??

BTW nice picture of the 2.8. My brother had a 3.0s and put the 2.8 shocks and a LSD on it..

bugger!!!

how did i miss this AGAIN? i had it in my head that it was the 7th april!

[:(] rightho... when is the next one and i WILL be there!!

Dave

Meetings are always on the first Wednesday of the month. The next one will be on Wednesday 2nd May. Pity you missed last night's as there was a good turnout and lots of bargains to be had in our charity auction. Never mind - look forward to meeting you at the next one!
