HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone in the R14 region. I've just purchased my first Porsche. After 18 months of deliberation I finally went for a 2002 996 C4S 3.6 Coupe in Artic Silver with Black Leather. I was wondering if someone could tell me more about the R14 region and where you chaps meet etc. I've emailed the R14 PCGB site but i think I might have the wrong email address. Would love to tag along perhaps on some of the outings etc. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Hi Sean and welcome along! I'm not a member of the club myself but I went on a few outings when I first got my car. I use this and other 911 forums a lot - you'll learn a lot from places like this. It's the things like realising that you aren't always at the mercy of your local OPC (Official Porsche Centre) and that there are other (far superior) alternatives to get your 911 serviced and generally tinkered with - like CMD Porsche in Pyle, Bridgend - Andrew is a mine of information.

I'm based in Swansea area and would be up for getting together if you're ever down this way.

All the best!

Adrian.

Many thanks for the feedback Adrian, you are right for the short time I have spent reading these forums etc I have learned more about Porsche ownership than I would have ever imagined... It has been a great help from choosing the car, what to look out for and even now as you say peace of mind when it comes to the wonderful world of servicing etc. I must admit I have had recently a few dealings with the OPC in Cardiff and they have been fantastic but as you mention I have choices and should not be afraid to look and discuss. Will certainly chat with CMD.

Thanks for the invite and I'm sure once the weather (ice & snow melts) picks up I will be down your way for a nice drive around the mumbles and will give you a shout.

Best regards.
