PCGB. Region 9. West Midlands ""
November 2006

For this last year, we have been meeting at the Drum and Monkey near Knowle, with a room provided for us.
However, the popularity of the Inn and the random and busy car parking situation has become untenable.
I have also paid attention to comments from members in the more northern areas of the Region.
Thus you will see that we are making a radical change to our future venue.
I hope that the following arrangements will suit many more of you and look forward to meeting you.

Christmas at the Drum and Monkey will be impossible, so I am pulling the plug, from after November. There will not be a meeting in December. Apart from the Drum & Monkey, family matters usually take precedent so close to Christmas.

With thanks to help from Paul Seagrave and Rob Bird, we have arranged for future meetings to be at the Bear Inn, Berkswell, just on the village crossroads.

This will still be on the third Thursday of the Month from 8pm onwards. We have been offered a room of our own with tea or coffee and an exclusive parking area. The Inn itself is picturesque as are the surroundings and I think, now within reasonable reach of the majority of the Region.

Evenings will, wherever possible be Porsche related in one way or another and at certain times of the year, the beer garden provides heated areas from which we can still see our Porsches.

If you have any particular preferences, or technical questions you would like discussed at the meetings, please give me fair notice in writing and I will endeavour to cover them at our meetings, for the benefit of all.
My address is "Elmwood Barn, Hadley, Droitwich, Worcs., WR9 0AX."

The inaugural meeting at The Bear will be on Thursday the 18th January 2007. This is a complete clean sheet so come and join a new look, at West Midlands Region.

Forthcoming Events.

21st December. This Meeting is Cancelled.

3rd Thursday Meetings. From 18th January these will be at The Bear Inn, Berkswell.

18th January, 8pm onwards at The Bear.

15th February, at The Bear.

15th March, at The Bear

Weekend Events,

3rd December Open day at Cornbury House, an afternoon lunch is arranged afterwards at Fififeld, see details elsewhere.

We shall be arranging some events, which will have to fit in with the PCGB Calendar in some respects.

However, all being well, we shall be joining Aston Martin Owners Club in a combined Karting event at Stourbridge in February so look out for further news.
It will be on the Forum as soon as we know.
Let's start afresh at the Bear and enjoy the PCGB New Year.

Best wishes to all of you
John Lord

To add, the Bear does food all day
It is situated on the crossroads of the Meriden Road and Coventry Road.

Since becoming a member at the end of August It has not been possible for me to attend any of the monthly meetings but the new venue sounds very good and I hope to make the inaugural Bear meeting in January.

Snarf, I hope you can make it, John is trying very hard for the region and personally I think the Bears location will add to it..
