Register Database

At last, and after much fiddling around with my 1902-vintage Dell, we have an operating 944 register Database.

Exciting, isn't it??

If anyone has not filled in a form for the database, or isn't sure, let me know and I'll sort you out.

If you've any changes to your car - change of colour, new engine no. etc, I can update that as well. Probably!!

[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"][:D] Actually in terms of colour and engine identity mine would still appear to be a concourse-friendly original hue with matching numbers. Damn, that's 2 bits that are still standard, then...[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana,geneva"]...and I'm not a PCGB member in any case...[FONT=verdana,geneva"]

Think mine was on there via the previous owner, as the car came with a 944 Register sticker. Let me know if not and I'll furnish (not like Elton's partner would) you with the details.

Actually was probably listed incorrectly as 'Zermatt Silver'. Reg is Fnnn MGB

Good luck with building the database.

Will it ever be published online? ie for seeing how many 951 cabs are on the record.

Think i filled in a form when i received my PCGB membership stuff, but not sure if this made it on to the database? Would you mind checking for me, there cant be too many S2s registered in Edinburgh? If not I will send you as much info as I can!

Paul,
Not sure if I'm there but in any case have just changed my car.
What details do you need?

Looks like you've opened up a whole can of worms now Paul [8|]

I'll make sure I let you know my new engine number when its fitted [:D]

I believe that shortly all members will get limited viewing access to their Register Database to look at trends like colour, year, model etc. Should be interesting.

Not so, at least for a while.

Speaking to Nic, there are issues around security. Also, as it is a major IT project being done by volunteers in their spare time, it is not imminent. Shame, as it would mean that you could all update the database yourselves [:D]

Oh drat! The last two workers seminars I went to have both mentioned this topic so I was hoping we'd be getting somewhere this year. I know it's a huge task, but meaningful 944 stats are one of the things we're quite often asked by members.

I think I just felt a rush of enthusiasm to volunteer in helping the conversion, but it involves computers and I'm rubbish at them (the empty glasses of wine by my side could be influential also [8|])

Paul,

I and (maybe Paul M) can give you all the stats you want right now, just jot the ones you want down and I will make up a query.

All the cars are on the database now, what the new project will do is let each member update their own info and allow the RO and RS access to them and some on line reports.

You heard the security concerns (at the last Conference) from some members which I am slowly working through, but then we have a massive linking and testing job to ensure whatever we do, we don't upset the main Club system. I will ask the new IT Committee (still looking for volunteers) to take this on board
It has taken 6 months to bed the Club System down after the rewrite that laid the foundations for the new Online system.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]
