Register Rendezvous - Upton House - 13th September

Just to remind everyone that the Register Rendezvous, organised by Ken Coad, is being held at Upton House near Banbury on Saturday September 13th 2014.

This promises to be a great day out with exclusive parking along the quarter mile drive of this imposing National Trust property and its equally impressive gardens. Entry is free [:)] but if you plan to go, you will need to take 'a drip tray' to put under your engine to avoid oil dripping on the Upton House lawns. According to Ken C's guide, you won't be allowed to park in the register area if you don't. Apparently a sheet of plastic or a flattened cardboard box will meet the criteria for a drip tray.

You can find more details about the event here. And if you're a Boxster driver, the Register will be driving in convoy to Upton House. You can find details about this here.

BTW, if any R31 members would be prepared to help out with marshaling cars in the morning please let us know.

Alan & Fiona.

Spoke to my mate and we are both happy to help, but he may not know alot of the models!

What time there?

Graham

Hi Graham,

That's brilliant - very many thanks for volunteering. According to Ken's briefing doc, the gates to Upton House will be opened at 08:30 and cars will be arriving from 09:30 onwards. I'm planning to get there at 09:30 so would suggest you aim to arrive at or before then.

Alan.

Thats ok. As I am very Local makes sense!

Will try for 9. Do I need to let Ken know?

I have got my cardboard drip tray too!

For those that are helping to marshal at Upton House today, can you please bring a Hi Viz yellow tabbard or jacket if you have them? Also, Ken has asked if you can bring spare cardboard or plastic sheets for those folks who turn up without a 'drip tray'. Many thanks.

We just wanted to say a very big thanks to all those members who turned out and supported the Club's Register Rendezvous yesterday. An extra special thanks too to Graham, Graham's mate and Mike from our Region whose sterling efforts as marshals ensured Club members were parked up in their allocated register places. Thanks guys.

I echo all the sentiments. Proves that the simplest events often work the best; great venue, well supported, good company and a nice day out for the Club's 356 with which the Club bravely trusted me. Worth it also to see the joy on Paul McNulty's face when another 944 finally turned up to keep him company....

A big thank you to the organiser and those blokes in Hi Vis strutting their stuff. Great day at a very pleasant venue. This is a simple but extremely effective format with the cooperation of the National Trust. More please.

Regards,

Kirk
