Hi,

Now that I've managed to access the forum, I thought I'd better (almost) introduce myself, even though you've hopefully reading my 912 column in Porsche Post. (Although not for a couple of months as I've been sailing the high seas - and some not quite so high!)

As background: I own a 1966 Porsche 912 SWB Coupe, almost as it left the factory, that has spent time in USA, Eire and France. My wife, Carolyn, and I use the 912 every year in April to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and I have also competed on both the 2009 and 2011 Poppy Rallies in Belgium.

As far as motoring is concerned, I have a long history in motor sport, having started rallying in Malta in 1969 in a FIAT 125 and subsequently in UK and China, from closed to club events to full FIA internationals. I'm currently trying to find a navigator so we can compete on the HRCR Clubman's Championship...

On 22 April, Carolyn and I will start the 2012 Cape to Cape Tour from Cape Wrath, finishing in Truro on 29 April having seen 1500 miles of British roads in the process. We will also be taking part in the Truro Classic Challenge on 29 April, so if you are around Truro then, come and watch. The whole aim of the Tour is to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and Carolyn has her fundraising site on http://www.justgiving.com/912. Please support her. (There is a personal reason for these Tours - members of Carolyn's family have unfortunately succumbed to cancer as have close members of mine. And I am a cancer survivor.
