As mentioned in the March Porsche Post we have a register visit scheduled for the "Le Mans Through The Ages" exhibition at Coventry Transport Museum. The date for this visit has now been set for April the 24th (Sunday).

We will be parking as a display on "Millennium Place" in front of the museum. We should have enough spaces but best to get there early!
Public parking is available nearby if we run out of space, or if you wish to come in a non-Porsche. Museum staff will be on hand to help direct you.

The exhibition celebrates the 24 Hours of Le Mans as one of the most legendary endurance motor racing events in the world, and the challenges which have influenced innovations in motorcar styling and technology throughout its history. The exhibition features the cars, the drivers and the stories which together make up the history of this extraordinary annual race.

There is no cost for this register event, and the Museum entry is free.

The Museum is located at Coventry Transport Museum:
Millennium Place
Hales Street
Coventry
CV1 1JD

See www.transport-museum.com for more information.
Opening time is 10 am (closes 5 pm).

If you are intending to come along then please say so below.

We look forward to seeing you there.

A quick update.
We will be there at the same time as TIPEC. They are expecting about 20 cars, I hope we can at least match that!

Should be a good joint event, with the chance to have a natter about all things Porsche as well as the Le Mans exhibition and the regular museum itself [:)]

Who's in then?

Mark and Claire
Stephen and Sharon
Daro9111
Stephen Fowell
Mick and Sue Dennis
David and Jack Lawrence
Ian & Shelagh
Ashley & Kathryn
Roger Theaker
Trevor Clues(excuse the spelling if wrong!)
?

Finally got around to re-arranging dates (such a busy calendar). Kindly include Sue and Mick. Looking forward to meeting everyone there. [:)]

My son, Jack and I will come - all the way from R17 and the New Forest.

Never been to a Boxster Register event before so looking forward to it!

What time are we aiming to meet up?

David Lawrence

Whew ! Some people at last... Still worried we'll be put to shame by the TIPEC lot though [:D]

Any more to help swell our numbers?

Claire and I will be there at opening time (I hope!) and the TIPEC contingent are aiming to be there at 12.

In reality any time you like is fine as the museum is open all day. This is more of a visit than a meet I suppose. [8D]

Hi Mark,

We will be there, and look forward to seeing you again after Belvoir Castle last year.

Ian & Shelagh
RS60 (Isle of Man)

Updated the list again. Looking better!
Ian and Shelagh, are you really coming from the Isle of Man? Presume you have other things planned as well!

At the Museum

There will be museum staff there directing you to park, and Clare and I will be trying to greet as well (apologies if we are not - we want to see the museum at some point during the day! )

Directions as above - see the website link and Gary's post.

I'm not sure if we can put a Gazebo up Spyderman - but I won't stop you bringing it as some shade would be welcome!

If anyone else wants to come feel free (you can bring any Porsche) - but if we run out of space because you haven't informed us you are coming then please don't get upset with us or the staff - alternate parking is available nearby.

See you all tomorrow!

I'll bring it anyway but it's an old one (lots of tubes!) designed for grass and as such needs pegging down. Will try to get there for 10:00.

Well what a great visit!

The museum was so much more than I expected, now I'll have to go again and have a proper look!
The Le Mans exhibition itself whilst small was interesting, with "local" cars and some long-time favourites - a couple of 962's and an R8 amongst them.

I'd like to thank everyone who came along and put on a fine display, and also TiPEC who came along later and doubled it!

No thanks to the town's road planners though... I'm still not sure how we finally made it through the one-way labyrinth - was it really multi-dimensional?! [:D]
