Porsche is the only performance marque on there. Aston Martin? Ferrari? Lamborghini? I wonder if they only use stats if they have sufficient numbers of owner data for that marque to make it credible. If the data comes from Warranty Direct the data might be skewed by the types of cars they typically warrant. Maybe they don't have many Aston, Ferrari and Lamborghini owners on their books. However, maybe a manufacturer like Lotus didn't make it into the top 35 due to unreliability rather than a small number of owners with Warranty Direct (sorry Lotus owners - a purely speculative example with no claims that it is fact). The only thing I can take from this is that Porsche as a solely performance car manufacturer has beaten a lot of mainstream manufacturers (including Volkwagen!) which is pretty impressive.

What that list doesn't tell you is how satisfied people were after something went wrong with their car that needed repair. That's just as important, if not more so, as how reliable a car is in the first place IMHO.

That might not necessarily put Porsche any higher up the list, but it would almost guarantee that Honda would be nearer the bottom in my experience!

The other point which perhaps distinguishes Porsche from other makes is the unusual ability to purchase an extended manufacture backed warranty - I presume anyone taking a Warranty Direct policy will have an older car, perhaps even one which has failed the 111 point check for example? What would be interesting to know is whether the results are weighted for the age and mileage of the cars?

All good points...

I see at least we did top the table in some of the charts.... The most expensive brand to repair is sports car maker, Porsche, at an average cost of £690
