Relieve Steering Warning

I have a 991.1 C2S which has developed an unusual habit of displaying a 'Relieve Steering' red warning light very briefly and then disappearing.

It happens roughly 1 in 5 times when the key is put into the ignition on start up, if it's displayed then the car will not even attempt to start but approximately 2/3 seconds later it disappears anyway and the car will start normally. The car is left in the garage on a CTEK trickle charger but I did notice the fault more if the car was left unlocked. Needless to say I've been locking the car but still seeing the fault occasionally.

I dont suppose anybody else has come across this issue? Some online searches suggest the steering wheel is being turned when the car is off and is locking out , so when I've been getting in and out of the car I've deliberately not touched the wheel but I'm still been seeing the occasional fault occur. I worry this will turn out to be one of those intermittent faults that if left unresolved will no doubt leave me stranded a million miles away from home!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice, picture attached below (it looks yellow and red striped but its the phone camera playing tricks).
